  • Overview

    Inspect garments for defects in sewing, knitting, labels, faulty seaming, misaligned trim or missing trim, slub, mispicks, runs, holes, stains and variations in color of fabric. These inspections are to assure that product being shipped to Eddie Bauer stores meet quality requirements set through commercially accepable standards. Measurement of garments at designated POM's to ensure garment is within the allowable tolerance.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Review all instructions and documents to ascertain procedures and objectives of assignment prior to start of inspection.
    • Review inspection criteria and all information for completeness prior to the start of inspection.
    • Review garment for specific quality issues; must be detail-oriented
    • Label verification: ensuring labels meet package requirements.
    • Test all functionality for apparel, accessories and hard lines: Including but not limited to, zippers, snaps, buttons, clasps, on/off function, etc.
    • Verify all pieces of hard lines, instructions and parts list are included in package.
    • Record all observations of inspection for final report.
    • Quantity verification: Count units within each carton for possible miscounts by the factory
    • Execute inspection in proscribed time frame.
    • Execute all work with a professional demeanor aligned with Eddie Bauer protocol.
    • Enter all defects into WM and on paperwork.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma; Prefered four year degree in Business or related field
    • An eye for color (must complete color blind test)
    • Previous quality experience
    • Comfortable to stand 8+ hours a day; twist, pull, push, lift, etc. up to 25 lbs. on a continuous basis.
    • Computer literate
    • Seamstress preferably
    • Experience in measuring garment points
    • Strong source planning and organizational skills
    • Experienced in PC based procurement systems
    • Understanding of cost center based accounting methodology
    • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
    • 10% inter-company travel required

    Preferred:

    • MRO and office equipment buying experience
    • CPM Certification
    • Experience in a centralized purchasing environment
