  • Overview

    Purpose:              The Senior Loss Prevention Administrator provides safety and loss prevention support. They are responsible for recommending and supporting company shrink control, and safety programs that support reduction of accident/incident frequency and reduce shrink and other losses while embracing the company’s safety and loss prevention philosophy and culture.

    Responsibilities

    Core Accountabilities:

    • Monitors all EBSC distribution, office and CC facility operations via a computerized monitoring system, closed circuit television system and alarm systems.  Provides security and/or emergency response in events of fire, intrusion, duress, unauthorized access, medical emergency, hazardous material incidents, etc.
    • Assists the loss prevention department in monitoring employee entrance and exit through the EBSC facilities, checking baggage and garments of employees and assists with locker inspections and employee terminations, as needed.
    • Responds to and conducts investigations of security incidents and medical emergencies within the EBSC facilities.
    • Acts as the emergency contact during events such as fire, flood, earthquake, tornado, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, etc. for all EBSC operational areas. Notifies proper emergency authorities and emergency services as needed.
    • Follows appropriate procedures when responding to a security or emergency situation. When procedures do not apply, uses best judgment in responding to security or emergency situations.  Completely follows through the procedures and response actions taken during security and emergency situations.  Keeps EBSC employees calm in the event of emergency.
    • Determine and implement appropriate response to life safety and insurance liability matters.  Accountable for decisions and actions that will cause/avoid interruption of operations, cause/avoid major financial impact to company and client companies.  The SLPA must avoid inaccurate or inappropriate responses/actions as they could cause loss of life and property, and/or erosion of public image of company or client companies.
    • Monitors acts of carelessness and violations of company policy that may lead to profit reduction, inventory shrinkage and potential disaster.
    • Completes an internal follow-up report through communication with the appropriate authorities (i.e. police, fire and hospital). Conducts physical security checks of EBSC property, when necessary.
    • Keeps a daily log of loss prevention related occurrences and communicates this information with managers and supervisors, other loss prevention associates and the following loss prevention shift.
    • Responsible for the creation of various security and testing reports. Also responsible for computer data entry and the filing of these reports. Updates computer systems with information from various reports.
    • Supervises and is responsible for the actions of other loss prevention associates. May also conduct on the job training of other loss prevention associates.
    • Routinely tests alarm systems to ensure functionality.
    • Contributes ideas and assists in the development of loss prevention procedures for security and loss prevention response.  May occasionally customize, program or back-up EBSC security system software.
    • All other assigned duties related to the essential functions of the position.

    Education/Experience Required:

    • Two year Associates degree or equivalent experience in a related field
    • Previous loss prevention, security, retail, customer service or warehouse experience
    • Basic knowledge of first aid procedures
    • Working knowledge of police and fire emergency management procedures
    • Intermediate knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and articulation skills
    • Knowledge of report writing techniques
    • Outstanding customer service skills that demonstrate a willingness and ability to exceed client expectations
    • Proven leadership skills including the ability to motivate, train and provide guidance to others
    • Ability to work without close supervision
    • Ability to make sound judgments and follow through actions
    • Willingness to work in a team atmosphere
    • Ability to prioritize tasks while remaining flexible
    • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

    Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.
    • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
    • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
    • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.
    • Ability to read, in some cases small print, numbers and letters and identify colors
    • Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisory staff

     

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position requiring regular attendance and punctuality which includes a work week consisting of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.  As an LPA, weekend work is required as well as mandatory over time during periods of high volume. This role operates in a warehouse environment subject to inside environmental conditions with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes and subject to loud noise due to conveyor systems and material handling equipment and routinely uses standard personal protective equipment
